Services
Our clinic provides a unique, integrated approach that addresses the intricate connection between the brain, the mind, and lived experience. We offer four core services to support our clients:
- Cognitive Rehabilitation: Targeted exercises and strategies to restore or compensate for impaired cognitive functions (e.g., memory, attention, executive functions) due to injury, illness, or psychological trauma.
- Cognitive Enhancement: Evidence-based training and techniques to strengthen and optimize cognitive performance, resilience, and mental agility, even in the absence of a specific impairment.
- Psychotherapy & Counselling: A safe, supportive space to process emotions, change unhelpful patterns, and develop coping skills through modalities like CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed therapy.
- Psychoeducation: Providing essential knowledge about a condition, its treatment, and the brain-behavior connection. This empowers clients and their families to better understand and manage their journey.
Neurocognitive Rehabilitation
Neurocognitive rehabilitation for mild cognitive impairment (MCI), neurodegenerative disorders, and cognitive impairments involves specialised, evidence-based interventions designed to improve cognitive functioning, daily living skills, and emotional wellbeing. At The NeuroCognitive Therapy Clinic, our rehabilitation approach includes restorative and compensatory cognitive training tailored to individual needs, employing techniques such as computerised cognitive exercises, memory training, attention processing, and the use of external aids to enhance function and delay decline.
This rehabilitation supports people in managing symptoms related to MCI, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurodegenerative conditions by promoting neuroplasticity and functional compensation. Programmes often combine cognitive training with lifestyle modifications, psychoeducation, and sometimes integration with physical therapy or client’s exsisting pharmacological treatments, all delivered in a culturally sensitive and supportive environment. Our goal is to help clients maintain independence, improve quality of life, and adapt effectively to cognitive challenges over time.
Cognitive and Intelligence Assessments
The NeuroCognitive Therapy Clinic offers comprehensive cognitive and intelligence assessments to evaluate an individual’s mental functioning and intellectual abilities. These assessments include a variety of standardized tests designed to measure cognitive domains such as memory, attention, verbal and nonverbal reasoning, problem-solving skills, processing speed, and executive functions. Common intelligence tests used include the Stanford-Binet, Wechsler scales for adults and children, and other tailored cognitive ability tests that examine verbal comprehension, fluid reasoning, visual-spatial skills, and working memory. These evaluations help identify cognitive strengths and weaknesses, support diagnosis of cognitive impairments or developmental issues, and guide personalised intervention plans. The assessments are conducted in a supportive, culturally sensitive environment to ensure accurate understanding and holistic care of each client’s unique cognitive profile.

Psychoeducation
Psychoeducation is an integral component within the counselling, psychotherapy, and neurocognitive rehabilitation services offered at The NeuroCognitive Therapy Clinic. It involves educating clients and their families about mental health conditions, cognitive impairments, and treatment strategies to enhance understanding, promote active participation in care, and empower effective management of symptoms. In counselling and psychotherapy, psychoeducation supports insight into emotional and psychological challenges, coping strategies, and relapse prevention. Within neurocognitive rehabilitation, it helps clients grasp the nature and impact of cognitive impairments or neurodegenerative disorders, setting realistic expectations and fostering skills to cope with cognitive and behavioural changes. Across all services, psychoeducation is delivered in a culturally sensitive, supportive environment to facilitate healing, resilience, and improved quality of life.
